Swan blankets in July

Most visitors to Caribbean hotels can attest to the (apparently) region-wide requirement that rooms come fully stocked with bath towels formed into the shape of swans. Less common, especially at the height of Cuba’s sweltering summer heat, are wool blankets shaped into related fauna. These lovely “bird-blankets” turned out to be a godsend, though, when we discovered just how frigid the air conditioning at our newly restored hotel was after midnight! (July 2016)
